SECTION-IX GROUNDING ELECTRODES AND CONDUCTORS
Note-1: The Installation shall strictly comply to IS3043 / IEEE80 codes
Note-2 : Refer Single line diagram, Earthing schematic diagram for fault levels and PE sizes
Note-3: All joints shall be properly welded joints and in case bolted joints, adequate size & numbers, bolts-nuts shall be used. Up to 25 x 6 flat, 2 bolts shall be used for joints. The size beyond 25mm width flat, 4 bolts shall be used. Bolted joints shall be with hexagonal bolt & nut with 2 flat washers & spring washers.
"Note-4: Wherever dissimilar flats to be used, necessary bimetallic transition inserts shall be used for joining two flats, either to be welded respectively or with bolted joints as indicated above. But washers shall be with bimetallic.
For Example :
a) Copper-GI: Bimetallic transition inserts one side copper & another side GI
b) Copper-Aluminium : Bimetallic transition inserts on one side copper & another side Aluminium
c) Aluminium-GI: Bimetallic transition insert on side aluminium & anther side GI"
Note-5: All buried flats shall be welded each other in addition to the bolted joints except wherever testing points only with bolted.
Note-6: All copper earth bus shall be tinned copper type.
Note-7: All earth conductor wires/cables shall be multistrand flexible type
Note-8: All earth conductor wires/cables shall be of green colour type insulation
GROUNDING ELECTRODES
1.1 Supply of materials, earth excavation, back filling, construction of chamber of dimension of 600mm(W)x600mm(B)x450mm(D), Providing Heavy duty chamber cover suitable for withstanding 5Ton Capacity and fixing of 0.6m x 0.6m x 4mm CU Plate earth station in conformity with IS 3043. The earth resistance shall be less than 1 Ohms.
